Bologna, November 28, 2019. The publishing activity of 1088press continues with two books dedicated respectively to Ancient Egypt and the Italian Risorgimento. The two new essays are supplemented by documents, illustrations and multimedia contents, in the enhanced edition.
Adorare Aten. Testi dalla corte del faraone Akhenaten gives an overview on the religious policy of Amenhotep IV, known as Akhenaten, the pharaoh who established the worship of the Sun God Aten. The essay is completed by an anthology of texts newly translated from the originals written in hieroglyphic, a glossary and a chronology of the dynasties from 3000 BC to Roman times. The author, Marco Zecchi, is professor of Egyptology at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.
Nicholas Brown and the Roman revolution of 1848 / e la rivoluzione romana del 1848 reconstructs the role played by Nicholas Brown, representative of the U.S. government in Rome, during the 1848 Roman revolution. The essay is completed with a selection of letters from the correspondence between Brown and the protagonists of the Roman Republic. The essay is in bilingual, English-Italian version. The author, David I. Kertzer, is Dupee University Professor of social sciences at Brown University.
